At Green Life DC Weed Dispensary And Marijuana Delivery ("Green Life DC," "we," "us," or "our"), we stand behind every product we sell. We carry only premium, lab-tested cannabis and accessories from trusted partners - but we know that occasionally, things don't go as expected. When that happens, we're committed to making it right.


This Return Policy explains your options if you receive a defective product, an incorrect item, or simply aren't satisfied with your purchase. Please read it carefully — and if you have any questions, contact us and our team will help.

Why Cannabis Returns Are Different


Cannabis is a regulated product under District of Columbia and federal law. Once cannabis products leave our licensed premises — whether through in-store purchase, pickup, or delivery — they cannot be returned to inventory for resale, even if the packaging is unopened. This is a strict regulatory requirement set by the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA) to protect product integrity and patient safety.


Because of this, all resolutions under this policy are issued as store credit rather than cash refunds. Store credit:

  • Has no expiration date
  • Applies to any product on our menu
  • Can be used in-store, for pickup, or for delivery
  • Stacks with most ongoing promotions and your GreenLife Rewards points


Defective Cannabis Products


What Counts as "Defective"

We consider a cannabis product defective if it has any of the following issues:

  • Vape cartridges or pens — broken hardware, leaking, clogged, not heating, or non-functional batteries
  • Pre-rolls — improperly rolled, contaminated, or unsmokeable
  • Flower — visible mold, contamination, packaging punctures, or significantly off odor/appearance
  • Edibles — broken or compromised packaging, foreign objects, or contamination
  • Concentrates — packaging defects, contamination, or inconsistency with the labeled product
  • Tinctures & topicals — broken seals, leaking, or defective droppers/dispensers


What's Required

To qualify for store credit on a defective cannabis product:

  • Report the issue within 24 hours of in-store purchase or delivery
  • Provide your order receipt (digital or printed)
  • Return the product and its original packaging — including any unused portion
  • Provide a clear photo or video of the defect, if requested (especially helpful for vape hardware issues)

  • Our team will guide you through the next steps — usually a quick verification call or in-store visit. Once verified, store credit is issued to your account, typically within 1–2 business days.


Incorrect or Missing Items


If you receive the wrong product, a missing item, or a damaged shipment:

  • Report the issue within 24 hours of delivery or pickup
  • Provide your order receipt and a description (or photo) of what was received
  • We'll immediately issue store credit for the affected item and, where possible, deliver the correct product to you at no additional cost. Mistakes happen — we'll fix them quickly.


Unopened, Unused Cannabis (Goodwill Exchanges)


While DC regulations prohibit us from returning cannabis to inventory, we understand that sometimes a customer simply isn't satisfied with their purchase — wrong strain choice, unexpected effects, or change of heart.



As a goodwill gesture, we may issue partial or full store credit for unopened, unused cannabis products under the following conditions:

  • Reported within 24 hours of in-store purchase or delivery
  • Product is completely unopened, seals intact, and visibly untouched
  • Original packaging and receipt are returned
  • Approval is at the sole discretion of Green Life DC management
  • Goodwill credit decisions are case-by-case. We typically approve first-time requests, but we may decline repeated goodwill requests from the same account to prevent policy abuse.


Accessories (Papers, Grinders, Glass, Etc.)


Non-cannabis accessories (rolling papers, grinders, lighters, glass pipes, vape batteries sold separately, storage containers, etc.) have a more flexible return policy:


Defective Accessories

  • Report within 7 days of purchase
  • Provide receipt and the defective item
  • Resolution: store credit or exchange for the same item


Unopened, Unused Accessories

  • Return within 7 days of purchase
  • Item must be unopened, unused, in original packaging, with receipt
  • Resolution: store credit


Final Sale Accessories

The following accessory categories are final sale and not eligible for return or exchange:

  • Used or opened glass, pipes, or smoking accessories
  • Items sold as "clearance" or "final sale"
  • Custom or special-order items


What's Not Eligible for Return or Credit


To be transparent about expectations, we cannot issue store credit, refunds, or exchanges in the following situations:

  • Cannabis that has been opened, used, or partially consumed (except for verified defects)
  • Requests made more than 24 hours after purchase or delivery (for cannabis) or more than 7 days (for accessories)
  • Products without original packaging, receipt, or proof of purchase
  • Products purchased with a promotional discount of 50% or greater (final sale)
  • Products from clearance or closeout events
  • Cannabis products lost, stolen, or destroyed after leaving our premises
  • Disagreement about subjective effects of cannabis (e.g., "this strain didn't make me feel the way I expected")
  • Issues caused by improper storage by the customer (e.g., flower dried out after weeks at home)
  • Custom orders, special requests, or bulk orders fulfilled to specification


Order Cancellations


Cancellations Before Fulfillment

You may cancel an order before it has been picked, prepared, or dispatched by calling us at (202) 766-5132. No fees apply.


Cancellations After Order Preparation

Once an order has been picked and prepared (typically within 1–5 minutes of online order placement), we cannot guarantee cancellation. If we are able to cancel, store credit equal to the order total will be issued.


Cancellations After Dispatch

Once an order has left our premises for delivery, it cannot be canceled. The customer must accept the delivery or it will be treated as a failed delivery (see Section 8).


Cancellations by Green Life DC

We reserve the right to cancel any order at our discretion - including for failed verification, suspected fraud, pricing errors, or inventory issues. Full store credit (or, where required, refund to original payment method) will be issued for any order we cancel.


Failed Deliveries


If our driver arrives and the delivery cannot be completed (patient unavailable, refusal to present valid ID/registration, incorrect address, etc.), the order will be returned to the store and treated as canceled.


  • The order total will be issued as store credit
  • The original delivery fee is non-refundable
  • A re-delivery fee may apply if you wish to reschedule


To avoid failed deliveries, please make sure you are available, sober, and have valid identification ready when your delivery is scheduled to arrive.


Using Your Store Credit


Once approved, store credit is added to your GreenLife Rewards account (or attached to your phone number on file if you're not enrolled).

  • No expiration date
  • Applies to any product on our menu, in any quantity
  • Usable in-store, for pickup, or for delivery
  • Stacks with ongoing promotions and rewards points (with standard exclusions)
  • Non-transferable - store credit is tied to the patient account and cannot be transferred to another person
  • No cash value - store credit cannot be converted to cash or refunded

  • The date and time of purchase/delivery
  • A clear description of the issue
  • Photos or videos of the defect, if applicable


Step 3: Hold On to the Product

Don't dispose of the defective product or its packaging. We may need to inspect it (in-store or via photo) to verify the issue.


Step 4: Resolution Within 1–2 Business Days

  • Once we verify the issue, store credit is added to your account, typically within one to two business days. For urgent issues (e.g., wrong product on a critical order), we'll work to resolve same-day where possible.


Quality Guarantee

We stand behind every product on our shelves. If something we sold you isn't right - defective, mislabeled, or simply not what you expected — tell us. Even outside the standard policy windows, we're happy to listen and find a solution where reasonable.

Policy Changes

We reserve the right to update this Return Policy at any time to reflect changes in our practices, DC regulations, or customer feedback. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify customers through the Site or email/SMS where appropriate.

Your continued purchases after policy updates constitute acceptance of the revised policy. The version of this policy in effect at the time of your purchase is the one that governs that transaction.
